Monopodial epiphytes. Stem rather short. Leaves distichous, sheathing at the base, glabrous, deciduous, duplicate. Inflorescence lateral, a few- to many-flowered raceme. Flowers medium-sized, resupinate. Sepals free. Petals free (attached to the column-foot), as long as the lateral sepals. Lip spurred, hinged to the column-foot, the spur not continuing the line of the column foot. Column-foot very long. Rostellum very long, beak-like. Pollinia 2, provided with a narrow pore, solid, caudicles absent, stipe present, viscidium present.
Distribution
Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, Philippines; 6 species.

Habitat
Epiphytes in lowland and hill forest.
Notes
Closely related to Cryptopylos and Pteroceras, from which it is distinguished by the very long rostellum, from Pteroceras also in that the spur of the lip does not continue the line of the column foot. Occasionally cultivated, but not at all common.
